Terms of Use — PlayCards
Last updated : 13 September 2026
1. Acceptance
PlayCards ("Jeu de cartes" on the stores) is published by AATMD (Mathys Thévenot), "we". By downloading, installing or using the app, you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. The service
PlayCards lets you play card games on your phone, with others or alone. A host creates a table; other players join with a 6-character code, a QR code or an invitation link. You can play against bots, create your own games and card decks, and submit them to the community catalogue. The app is free and has no ads; some content is paid (see § 4).
Online play requires an internet connection. We do our best to keep the service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability; the games, features and rules offered may change.
3. Account
- The account is optional: the whole game works without one. It lets you pick up your progress on another device.
- Sign-in uses a code sent by e-mail, with no password. You are responsible for access to your mailbox.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Account → Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and permanent; it does not cancel an active subscription, which is managed from your App Store or Google Play account.
- Your nickname must not be offensive, misleading or impersonate anyone. We may change it or restrict access in case of abuse.
How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.
4. Purchases and the Table Pass
In-app purchases are billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Indicative French prices, VAT included:
- Premium game: €2.99 each — one-time purchase.
- Community pack: €1.99 — one-time purchase.
- All games (bundle): €6.99 — one-time purchase.
- Table Pass ("Pass Table"): subscription at €2.49 per month or €14.99 per year. It gives access to every premium and community game, the whole wardrobe (themes, card backs, felts), tables of 7 to 10 players, statistics and history, for as long as the subscription is active.
The applicable price is the one shown in the app and on the store at the time of purchase; it may vary by country and currency. One-time purchases are tied to your Apple or Google account and can be restored on your devices with "Restore purchases".
Auto-renewal. The Table Pass renews automatically at the end of each period (month or year) at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account when you confirm the purchase and at each renewal.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your account settings: on iPhone, Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for; the current period is not refunded, except where Apple or Google allow it — they alone handle refund requests. Deleting the app or your PlayCards account does not cancel the subscription.
For purchases made on the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. If it conflicts with these terms regarding an App Store purchase, it prevails.
Right of withdrawal. Digital content is supplied immediately after purchase. By confirming the purchase you request immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal to the extent permitted by law; Apple's and Google's refund policies still apply.
5. Game chips
The chips, coins and points used in the app are game points with no monetary value. They cannot be bought, traded, converted into any currency or goods, or cashed out. PlayCards is not gambling: no real stakes, no real winnings.
6. Player-created games
You can create games and card decks and submit them to the community catalogue. By submitting them you agree to the community rules:
- Respectful content: nothing illegal, hateful, discriminatory, violent, sexually explicit or harassing, and no one else's personal data.
- No trademarks, logos, registered game names, characters or images you do not own the rights to.
- No advertising, links to gambling, or misleading content.
You keep the rights to your creations. For as long as they are in the catalogue, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, reproduce, adapt for display and distribute them in the app (including in screenshots and promotional material for the app). You confirm you hold the necessary rights.
Moderation. Every submitted game is reviewed before publication; we may refuse, adjust the presentation of, or remove any content at any time without notice, in particular if it breaks these rules. Any player can report a game from the catalogue and block an author's content. Reports are reviewed and unlawful content is removed promptly. Repeated breaches may lead to losing the ability to submit games. You can also report content to aatmdmt@gmail.com.
7. Prohibited use
- Using the app for unlawful purposes or to organise real-money betting.
- Cheating, exploiting bugs, disrupting games or servers, automating play.
- Decompiling, reverse-engineering or redistributing the app without permission.
- Harassing other players.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its artwork, text, sounds and the PlayCards brand belong to AATMD. The rules of traditional card games are free to use; their implementation in the app is not. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app.
9. Liability
- The app is provided "as is". We do not guarantee it is free of errors or interruptions.
- We are not liable for progress lost by uninstalling without an account, or for player-submitted content before it is removed.
- To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the previous twelve months. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights or our liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
10. Changes
These terms may be updated; the new version is published on this page with its date. For significant changes we will let you know in the app. Continuing to use the app means you accept them.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In case of a dispute, please contact us first to find an amicable solution; failing that, the French courts have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
